Orchestral booking stats, 2008 "fixing is a person business"

Fixing musicians is a person business, full of ifs, buts and maybes - you can't fully-automate ambiguity. Morgensterns Teleteam provide a really excellent service, just the right balance of service and technology. Christian Rutherford, LCO (Orchestral Manager)
I really don't think you can fully-automate fixing, due to the nature of freelance musician's work and the need for personal contact. Charlotte Templeman, ECO (Orchestral Manager)
At Morgensterns, we understand the importance of harmonising technical excellence with an outstanding personal service.
But our automation - our calendars, availability lists, our instant communications with clients and fixers, and our client and fixer logon services - have been developed to support our respected Teleteam and the fixers and musicians who book through Morgensterns - not to tear the heart out of the business by replacing our Teleteam with an sms server.
I regularly book musicians for my film and TV sessions through Morgensterns. Communications with musicians are never cut and dried - I rely on Morgensterns Teleteam to sort out ambiguities. They provide an efficient, reliable and personal service for fixers and composers. Their web based technology is extremely useful, but only because it is backed up by their friendly and experienced Teleteam. Debbie Wiseman MBE, Composer
Actual bookings from some of the many orchestras (with booking totals) that placed bookings for Morgensterns clients in 2008.

So what exactly has Classical Music Homepage re-invented?
|
|
|
|
The four different graph types above, 1. bookings per month, 2. orchestra, 3. opera, ballet, show and 4. Availability Lists provide information about difference aspects of Morgensterns business.
The Bookings per month graph, shows the number of bookings per month, placed through Morgensterns for the selected year. When you select the graph, the display presents data from the most current year.
The Orchestra and Opera, Ballet and Show graphs give you an idea of the variety of orchestras booking musicians through Morgensterns. The two graphs display the 12 orchestras who were most active in booking Morgensterns clients during the selected period, i.e. 2004 q4 displays a graph for the period October - December 2004. You can select the quarter you want to view from the pull down menu below the Graph type selection buttons.
The Availability list graph type, displays the number of requests we receive for our unique work generating availability lists during the selected year - again select the desired year from the pull down menu.
To select a graph type, just click on one of the Graph Type buttons, i.e. Bookings per month or Orchestra or Opera, Ballet, Show, or Availability Lists, and the graph data will change to reflect your choice of graph. You can also change the colour of the graph bars and the alignment of the graph, i.e. from a horizontal bar graph to a vertical graph, by clicking on the chart direction button.

So what exactly has Classical Music Homepage re-invented? Because in our opinion there's a lot of copying but not much invention going on.
Have they re-invented putting clients in control of their work? No, because at Morgensterns it's always been our mission to put clients in control of the decision to accept or decline work.
Have they re-invented the instant delivery of messages? No, because instant proactive communication has always been at the heart of our business. And, in addition to texting and emailing messages, our Teleteam deliver messages to clients by telephone, mobile and fax.
Have they re-invented a delight in new technology? No, because at Morgensterns we've always been keen to embrace new technology. We were fully computerised in 1990, introduced our web site in 1995 and we have been texting and emailing all of our client messages for many years now.
And they've certainly not re-invented after-message care! Because they don't offer any! Busy musicians know that it's not just the instant delivery of messages that's important - It's the after-message support that's essential too.
Keeping fixers and clients updated on the progress of bookings is a vital aspect of our Teleteam's daily activities - just visit our client and fixer logon pages for a reminder of how involved the diary side of the business can be.
So what exactly has Classical Music Homepage re-invented?
Oh yes, they've removed the Teleteam, the expert heart of the business, and they've made communications a lot more complex! With Morgensterns you just need to pick up the telephone...
