DESCRIPTIONWhat do we do? Morgensterns specialises in providing management services for freelance orchestral and session musicians. We hold copies of our clients diaries so that when they are away from the telephone Orchestral Managers (fixers) can call us to book them. You will therefore find it useful to have a general understanding of the workings of the orchestral world.Job purposeTaking bookings, passing on bookings, sometimes you will have to make decisions about whether or not to accept work on behalf of our clients, and helping to maintain our web site are the most important aspects of the job. To become an effective member of our team you will need to be familiar with our clients and the type of work they are interested in accepting. You will also need to be familiar with the fixers who book our clients.
JOB DETAILSManagement Assistant
TelephoneThe largest part of your time will be spent on the telephone, for example, dealing with telephone inquires from fixers, tracking clients down, so that bookings can passed on to them immediately, taking diary updates from clients and preparing and up-dating client web profiles.
ComputerMuch of your time will be spent working with Morgensterns diary-management database. You will therefore need to have a general familiarity with computers, and you will need to be able to type quickly and accurately. General office duties, including photocopying, franking etc...
Training periodThere will be a 10 week training period after which time we will expect you to: know all our clients and their work preferences; know the fixers who book regularly through Morgensterns; and to be fully conversant with our computerised administrative procedures.
HoursYou are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours pw. The business operates from 8am to Midnight. Our new member of staff will be expected to work the following hours. Two or three day time shifts per week, from 9am - 5pm Two or three evening shifts per week, from 4pm to Midnight 4 - 6 eight hour weekend shifts per month i.e. either 9 - 5pm or 4 - Midnight
Salary£18,750 per year.
Late NightAs you see you will often have to work up to midnight. It is therefore essential that you can return home in safety, preferrably by car.Working for Morgensterns is a great way to launch your career in orchestral management.
