Biography As a soloist, Lauren has given a lunchtime recital at St Martin in the Fields as part of the Young Musicians Trust. In early 2006, Lauren created and performed all the music for the Audi Television Advertisement, The Spider. Lauren was Orchestra Manager for the British Youth Opera (1997 - 2000). Lauren's main interests are Opera and Contemporary Music Theatre, she studied Music Theatre as her special option at University looking especially at Birtwistle, John Adams, Berio, Maxwell Davies and Turnage. Lauren's thesis was on Dance Art and Music looking at the collaboration of Merce Cunningham and John Cage in conjunction with the works and development of Piet Mondrian. As a result she went to see a great deal of modern dance including Ballet Rambert and the Royal Ballet variations tour. Lauren has worked in the jungles of Costa Rica and travelled extensively in Australia, New Zealand and India. She is a qualified PADI Advanced Diver. Orchestral Work Lauren's orchestral work also includes Opera Del Mar (Principal 2nd), Presteigne Festival Orchestra (1st Violin, working with Paul Patterson, Gillian Keith, Freya Ritts-Kirby under the direction of George Vass), London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Britten Pears Contemporary Music Ensemble (solo violin under Oliver Knussen, Fredd Sherry from the Julliard School and Colin Matthews), Surrey Mozart Players, Park Opera (Co-Principal 2nd), Britten Pears Orchestra (Principal 2nd), British Youth Opera, Cambridge New Music Players (Co-Principal 2nd), Concillium Chamber Orchestra, Universal Film Orchestra, Reservoir (Contemporary Music Ensemble),Trinity College Symphony Orchestra, Mandeville Ensemble (Leader at TCM), Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Rivoli Ensemble (Leader - Contemporary Music Group at Manchester University). Education Prizes and Awards Teachers: Donna Lee Croft, Marius Bedeschi and Eszter Boda Katona. Lauren is currently studying with Howard Davis. Coaching: As part of British Youth Opera training she has received coaching from Barry Griffiths (Leader ENO) and Tim Hewitt-Jones from the Royal Opera House.
