Alex was recently engaged as principal cello of the Lancashire Sinfonietta.

Alex has recently been auditioned and accepted as an extra player for Opera North and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Alex recently rehearsed the Schumann Cello Concerto with Dartington Festival Orchestra as a deputy soloist. He has also played onscreen in the BBC 2 period drama 'The Hour'

Alex's opera experience includes Peter Maxwell Davies: The Lighthouse (solo, broadcast on RAI, Italy), William Walton: The Bear (solo), Rossini: The Barber of Seville, and Mozart: Cosi fan tutti

Alex plays on a beautiful modern cello by Robin Aitchison of Ely

Alex has an extensive experience of location recording and professional CD production, including a full working knowledge of professional digital editing software and hardware.

Alex is also a keen photographer who takes professional photos for musicians.

Education
Alex's schooling took place at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester (1997-2002). Alex's graduate studies took place at Royal Academy of Music (BMus Perf, June 2006).
