Charles's orchestral work also includes the Royal Ballet Orchestra (Co-leader), London Festival Ballet Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra (regular extra work), Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Associate Member 1st vln 17 years), London Mozart Players, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Radio Orchestra, Welsh National Opera Orchestra (Princ 2nd), St Paul's (Knightsbridge) Festival Orchestra (Leader), Aurelian Ensemble (Princ 2nd), Haverhill Sinfonia, Sinfonia 21, National Philharmonic Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Aminta Chamber Orchestra (Princ 2nd).

Charles is employed regularly as a session musician and has also been booked to play in the orchestras of many west end shows.

As a chamber musician Charles has a violin and piano duo with Anthony Milledge, and is the leader and a founder member of the Fortuna String Quartet who have been broadcast live on Radio 2. He does hotel and function work which involves improvisation and playing by ear. Charles plays with the Ben Sanders Scottish Band.

Education
Charles's graduate studies took place at the Guildhall School of Music.
