NICHOLAS BENDA  (Oboe, Oboe D'amore, Cor Anglais, Oboe Baroque)»

Biography
As well as freelancing with modern and baroque instrumental ensembles, Nicholas performs regularly in the chamber music series at the church of St Anne's and St Agnes in London, where his preferred repertoire is French Baroque.

As a player and arranger of light and functional music, he appears with the Mallard Trio. He considers the key to his playing to be the versatility of the character of the oboe in its many historical and social settings.

Nick has been an occasional freelance travel writer for a variety of magazines and newspapers, including the Independent and Mid Week.

Nicholas was born in Rinteln, West Germany 1960. Nicholas's schooling took place at Winchester College (1974 - 1979). Nicholas's graduate studies took place at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (1980 - 1983) and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (1983 - 1984).
