Biography

Further to her orchestral experience, Nichola's training orchestra experience includes The Amadeus Orchestra, Britten-Pears Symphony Orchestra, HallŽ Youth Orchestra and many orchestras and chamber groups at the Royal Academy of Music.

Nichola'sBaroque training includes an EUBO audition course (2007), The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Experience scheme (2006-7), a 90% bursary for Dartington International Summer School Baroque Orchestra July 2006, provided by Ernest Rainer, and a bursary for the 2007 course from the summer school and the Wingate Foundation, and projects at the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Nichola has worked under directors such as William Christie, Laurence Cummings, Sir John Eliot Gardener, Trevor Pinnock and Rachael Podger, and conductors such as Sir Colin David, Mark Elder, Edward Gardener and Yan Pascal Tortelier.

Nichola's recording experience includes Handel's Messiah with the Dunedin Consort, released 10/2006 on Linn records, soundtrack to short film by Pistachio Pictures Ltd. "One Hundredth of a Second" screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2006; BBC Radio1 broadcast with the London Breakbeat Orchestra in 2007.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: Amadeus Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia, Brandenburg Sinfonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Lancashire Sinfonietta, London Concert Orchestra, London Handel Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Westminster Chamber Orchestra.

Nichola's orchestral work also includes Brandenburg Sinfonia, Charities Philharmonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (trial and extra work), Oriana Ensemble, Westminster Chamber Orchestra. BBC Philharmonic (with a trial in 2008).

Nichola is also on the extras list for the BBC Philharmonic.

Nichola's Baroque orchestral experience includes Dunedin Consort and Players, Little Baroque Company and Orchestra of the Baroque.

Education
Nichola's graduate studies took place at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with a BMus(Hons) 1st class in 2007 and gaining an LRAM in 2006.

Prizes and Awards
RAM Early Music Prize finalist, performing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.6 (2007)

Teachers: James Sleigh and Jane Rogers (Baroque Viola). Nichola has also had lessons with Alison Bury, Nicolette Moonen and Judy Tarling.

Masterclasses and chamber coaching:Brian Hawkins, Jerzy Kosmala, Martin Outram, Hartmut Rohde, Yitzak Schotten, Matthew Souter and John White.
