Biography
As a session musician and member of the string quartet Anodyne Strings, Ruth has been booked for various projects including the music for a Jamie Oliver TV show, and for the Sony Music CD, Wreckage by Overseer. She has also recorded Music for Dance by Chrisopher Benstead and was a soloist for The Peacemaker by Barry Ganberg.

Ruth plays regularly for the Rambert Dance School's contemporary and improvisation classes as well as performing solo accompaniments for the Rambert Company Easter Show 2004, and at the Linbury Theatre Covent Garden, in May 2004. She has played for Richard Alston Dance Company projects; with the Moving Visions Contemporary Dance Company on their Cathedral Tours of 2002 and 2003; and for Five Rhythms Dance 2 day workshops, Devotion , with Peter Brown in 2003 and 2004.

As a soloist Ruth gave an open-air fundraising recital, Music in the Garden, in the summer of 2003. She has also performed at the Worcester Three Choirs Festival 2002 as well as playing regularly at weddings.

Ruth is a member of the string quartet Anodyne Strings who play at weddings and and other functions, in addition to their session work.

Ruth runs her own private cello school N Cellos for the young musicians in North London. There are 13 pupils in the school and she runs regular ensemble and performance workshops and encourages them to play in N Cello Concerts. She has 2 adult pupils and teaches weekly at the Canonbury Primary School and William Tyndale Primary School, both in Islington. Ruth was invited to join the teaching staff for a Gershwin workshop in November 2004.

Ruth also plays piano, regularly does improvisation on the cello and uses the Kodaly method of teaching.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: City Chamber Ensemble.

Ruth's orchestral work also includes the New English Orchestra on their Salzburg Festival Tour in 2003, Canterbury Philharmonic Orchestra, Tempus Chamber Orchestra, Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra, Royal Tunbridge Wells Choral Society Orchestra, London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Education
Ruth's graduate studies took place at Trinity College of Music (1995 - 99) where she achieved a B Mus, 2:1.

Prizes and Awards
Sir John Barbarolli Memorial Prize for Cello playing (1999), Trinity College of Music.

Teachers: Lowri Blake, Joely Koos, Madam Maud Tortellier (masterclasses at Trinity College of Music and in Brazil)
