Biography Maddalena is an extremely versatile player; in addition to her extensive orchestral experience, Maddalena has enjoyed contributing to recordings and live performances by rock and pop artists. Maddalena featured in Helen Lawson's debut EP Crossing the Bridge and toured Denmark in December 2008 with songwriter and guitarist Yoav. Maddalena has played sell-out shows across London with Yoav (Soho Revue Bar, Chapel of St Barnabas) and the ambient rock group Blindfold (Roundhouse, Barfly, 93 Feet East, Proud Galleries, Bush Hall, Union Chapel). As well as working with artists to record live sessions for Q Radio and BBC Radio 2, Maddalena worked with Biggi Hilmarsson (Universal Records) to record all the string parts for an IKEA commercial, which will be aired throughout Europe, as well as music for BBC TV. In April 2009 she worked with composer Ella Spira (Royal Ballet, Covent Garden) to record as cello solo the soundtrack for the movie "Uncut" directed by Phil West (Cannes film Festival 2009). Maddalena was the first Cellist in Britain to have the latest Fishman pick-up C-200 microphone fitted to one of her cellos, which means she can play in any venue and at any required volume level. Orchestral Work Maddalena's orchestral work includes Royal Academy Symphony Orchestra, Royal Academy Concert Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera di Lugano, Orchestra del Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana.
