Biography
Victoria has performed a number of concertos with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, including the Bach Concerto in D for Oboe & Violin (June 2001), Mozart Sinfonia Concertante (April 2001) and Strauss Concerto in D (Nov 1999).
Other concerto performances include the Vivaldi Concerto in C with the Bournemouth Sinfonietta; Strauss Concerto in D at St Albans Town Hall; Bach Concerto in D for Oboe & Violin in Lutry Cathedral, Switzerland; and the Mozart Concerto in C with the RAM String Orchestra.
Victoria's chamber music experience includes Solihull Music Society; Recital for Oboe and Piano (July 2006), Warwick Arts Society; Recital for Oboe and String Quartet, (June 2006), Warwick Festival; Recital for Oboe and Piano (June 2005), CBSO 'Centre Stage'; guest principal oboe for wind octet concert, and Leamington Festival; Recital with Free Bass Accordian for New Music Day.
Victoria was Artist of the Month, RTHK Radio 4 (Hong Kong), performing three live radio recitals, as well as several recitals for Hong Kong Chamber Music Society. In 1997, Victoria attended the International Musician's Seminar, Chamber Music week, at IMS, Prussia Cove.
Orchestral Work
Orchestras: Bath Philharmonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra, London Concertante, Opera Project, Orchestra of the Swan, Royal Ballet Sinfonia. Education Work: City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Education.
Victoria's orchestral work also includes the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (Principal Oboe 1998 - 2002). Victoria performs regularly as principal oboe with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, English Symphony Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra. Victoria has also performed with Longborough Opera (Cor Anglais), Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Britten Sinfonia, Northern Sinfonia, Hallé Orchestra and Lyon Opera.
Victoria is currently on trial for Assistant Principal Oboe with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Education
Victoria's schooling took place at the Church of England School for Girls, Edgabston, Birmingham (1988 - 1990) and Lauriston School for Girls, Melbourne, Australia (1983 - 1988). Victoria's graduate studies took place at Conservatoire de Musique de Geneve, Premier Prix de Virtuosite (1994 - 1996) and the Royal Academy of Music, London, BMus Perf (Hons) and LRAM (1991 - 1995).
