Daniel was born in Madrid in 1986 and studied in Royal Conservatoire Madrid and in Paris with Nicolas Baldeyrou. Established in London in 2009, he completed a Masters Course at Trinity Laban studying clarinet with Joan Enric Lluna and Michael Whight and has attained an Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music thanks to a full Ibercaja/Mackerras Scholarship. He has been a member of Southbank Sinfonia and has appeared with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de Espana, Colin Currie Group, Chroma Ensemble (recording for Harmonia Mundi), Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Sound Collective and the Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra. He has been a member of the Madrid Youth Orchestra, The Dutch National Youth orchestra, London Sinfonietta Academy and Young Musicians' Symphony Orchestra.

Recipient of awards such as the Making Music Award for Young Concert Artists (2011) and the Clarinet and Saxophone Society Competition (2010) Daniel recent performances include Mozart and Brahms quartets alongside the Allegri and Navarra String Quartets, a solo recital in the prestigious Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago and concerti with John Wilson, Andrew Gourlay and the Orion Symphony Orchestra. He currently teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and Northwood School and also runs Musica en Segura, an international music festival in Segura de la Sierra (Spain).

Daniel Broncano (Clarinet, Clarinet Eflat, Clarinet Bass) Profile

Acclaimed for his "dazzling virtuosity" and "inventive playing", Spanish clarinettist Daniel Broncano is rapidly emerging as an exciting young soloist and recitalist. He has recently been the recipient of numerous awards, including the RCM Clarinet Prize (2012), Making Music Award for Young Concert Artists (2011), and the Madrid Youth Orchestra Soloists' Competition (2011).

Daniel's recent performances as a soloist include concertos by Stanford, Nielsen, Weber and Mozart. He has recorded the Copland Clarinet Concerto for BBC3 and has appeared as a soloist at the Aberystwyth Music Festival 2011 with the Orion Symphony Orchestra, performing Spohr's 4th Clarinet Concerto. As a passionate contemporary music performer he has given the world première of Jekyll's Confession for Solo Clarinet by Jesús Aranda and Simone Spagnolo's opera It Makes No Difference for singers, clarinet and ensemble. Other solo engagements include a recital in Moscow Conservatoire (representing RCM) and Weber's 2nd Clarinet Concerto (2013).

Together with Johannes Minch, the Broncano/Mnich Duo (supported by Concordia Fondation) has performed extensively in the UK, Spain and Germany and will appear soon in major venues such as Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, St Martin in the Fields and St James's Piccadilly in London, Leeds Chamber Series and Teatros del Canal in Madrid. Daniel has recently performed with other chamber groups including the Erdesz Quartet, the Billroth Ensemble and the Mocanu Trio.
