Biography

Fiona began studying the harp at the age of twelve and at sixteen she took part in a master class at the Vienna Conservatoire of Music. She went on to graduate from the University of York with an honours degree in music and then studied for a further year at the Guildhall of Music and Drama in London.

She now has a busy and varied career which combines classical, contemporary, jazz and light music. She performs in the UK and abroad with many leading orchestras but you may also come across her accompanying a jazz singer in a London night club. She plays regularly in the musicals running in London's West End, including Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast. as well as productions for the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company in London and Stratford.

Fiona has given live and recorded broadcasts for BBC Radio 3, Radio 2 and Classic FM with a variety of chamber ensembles. As a soloist she has travelled as far as Bombay and has made television appearances in India and the UK

Although this is her first solo album, Fiona can be heard on several CDs of show music with the National Symphony Orchestra as well as CDs of Gershwin's music and contemporary opera.

Fiona's latest solo release, Moments from the Movies, contains her own arrangements of music from films (ZZCD 9810). Her recent performances include 'Sheherazade'.

Education
Fiona's schooling took place at Bedales School, Hampshire. Fiona's graduate studies took place at University of York and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
