Syrinx, Claude Debussy, from a Live Concert in Lyon, France, September 09 Biography Ana is currently Principal Flute of the EPK Europa Philharmonie, Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany, as well as Associate Principal Flute with the Philharmonie der Nationen, Hamburg. Ana spent her childhood years living between Argentina and Australia. After graduating in music with an HD from the University of Sydney, Ana left Australia for France. She gained entry into the Conservatoire National de Region de Paris where she studied under Catherine Cantin for the Premier Prix de le Conservatoire de Paris during which time she also studied privately under Monsieur Raymond Guiot and Philippe Pierlot. Whilst in Paris Ana performed as Principal flute with the L'Orchestre de la Conservatoire de Paris at the Opera Bastille, as well as with the L'Orchestre de Hector Berlioz de Paris. She was twice finalist in the Concours de Jeune Flutisits de la France. Ana has attended masterclasses with and received tutoring from David Nicholson, Ransom Wilson, Felix Renngli, Alex Murray, Ian Clark, Mike Mower, Trevor Wye, Gary Schocker, Michael Cox and Claire Southworth. At age 25 Ana was appointed Principal Flute and Soloist with the Orchestra do Norte in Oporto, Portugal, with whom she subsequently performed the WA Mozart Concertos for Flute and Orchestra. Ana however left Portugal in early 2009 to take up her positions in Germany. Ana has a relatively active solo and chamber music calendar. She has, in her short career, performed as recitalist or as a chamber musician in London and Paris, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Spain. More recently Ana has been performing with section leaders of the Bucharest Radio Symphony as a chamber ensemble paying particular attention to Haydn and the string quartets of Arthur Honneger. In January 2010 Ana recorded Haydn double Concertos for (Flute and Oboe) with French Oboist Emmanuel Rey, and WA Mozart Andante for Flute and Orchestra K.315 with the chamber ensemble of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Sydney. Ana has moved to London as of April 2010.
