Biography

Sarah has performed throughout the UK since graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2003. As a freelance violinist, she is on the extra lists of the English Symphony Orchestra and The Orchestra of the Swan, and has also recently worked with the National Chamber Orchestra of Wales, Bath Philharmonia, British Concert Orchestra, Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Emerald Ensemble, Regency Sinfonia, Southern Sinfonia, and as soloist with the Arion Orchestra.

As a chamber musician Sarah has given recitals as leader of the Ardeton Ensemble at the Oakham Festival (2007 & 2006) and the Ipswich 'Pulse' Festival, as well as evening concerts in Gloucestershire, the Chew Valley, Bristol and Manchester. In July 2007 the group went on tour to Norway, giving evening performances as part of the Risør 'Midsummer Music' Festival, and the Sauherad 'Summer Concerts' Series.

Sarah also leads the Ardeton String Quartet who were finalists in the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition. The Quartet has performed for prestigious corporate events all over the country including a celebrity party at the 2007 Hay on Wye Literary Festival and the 2005 'Wales Remembers' War Veterans event in the presence of HRH Prince Charles, as well as performing for many weddings and private functions each year.

Whilst at the RWCMD Sarah studied with Lucy Gould of the Gould Piano Trio, and was selected to work with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on the Orchestral Placement scheme. Sarah was also a section leader for the College Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, and performed in Masterclasses with Krzysztof Smietana and Phillipe Graffin.

Sarah's orchestral work also includes Emerald Ensemble, Britten-Pears Orchestra, Dartington International Festival Orchestra, Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Arion Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru, National Musicians ' Symphony Orchestra, Taunton Camerata, Amadeus Orchestra, Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, String Ensemble & Millennium Ensemble. Sarah has also taken part in the placement scheme with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
