Biography
Session violinist Julian Ferraretto works primarily in contemporary music playing with London's top jazz, world music and pop outfits.

In the last 6 months Julian has played for the Prince Charles and Prince William in Highgrove, appeared on the Jools Holland show playing with Shakira, performed for Norman Foster and his friends in his house in Switzerland and for Penelope Cruz's party in Cannes.

Sessions: Julian's versatility as a reader and improviser sees him recording both as a soloist as well as an ensemble musician. Recent work includes albums for Carleen Anderson, The Invisible, Matthew Herbert, Eska and Ty.

Television sessions for My Fair Kerry (ITV) and the Discovery Channel.

Radio sessions for Real Radio, Smooth FM and BBC regional.

Tours: Julian tours internationally with Natacha Atlas and the Mazeeka Ensemble, The Urban Soul Orchestra, Eska Mtungwazi and Stuart Townend. Appearances include Edinburgh Fringe Festival, WOMAD, North Sea Jazz Festival, Barbados Jazz Festival and Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

Julian is a member of Wigmore Hall's resident Ignite Ensemble led by the composer and percussionist Jackie Walduck.

Other skills - Julian doubles on viola, electric violin, voice, guitar and mandolin.
