Biography
Lucy was awarded a full scholarship to study horn with Lindsey Stoker at the Royal Northern College of Music. Since graduating in 2008 she has enjoyed a busy freelance career and was appointed Co-Principal Horn of Southbank Sinfonia in January 2009. Lucy played Principal Horn in the 2010 revival of Tom Stoppard and Andre Previn's play Every Good Boy Deserves Favour at the National Theatre. She has taken part in side-by-side projects with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, London Sinfonietta, Britten Sinfonia and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Lucy is a keen chamber musician and recently performed Schubert's Octet as part of the Royal Opera House Crush Room recital series. She performed Mozart's Horn Quintet and Va tacito from Handel's Julius Caesar in the Anghiari Festival in Tuscany and has also performed chamber recitals at the Wigmore Hall. Lucy is a member of Mosaic Ensemble and performs frequently with Oompah Brass, including live BBC radio and television broadcasts.

  • Principal horn with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Southbank Sinfonia, broadcast on In Tune on BBC Radio 3.
  • Oompah Brass: live radio broadcast on BBC London and BBC One's The One Show
  • BBC Radio 3 broadcast: 1st Solo Horn in Schumann's Konzerstuck for Four Horns, in a masterclass with Richard Watkins.

  • RNCM Wind Orchestra (Chandos): Experiements on a March. RNCM Symphony Orchestra (NMC): Edwin Roxburgh's Clarinet Concerto with Linda Merrick.

Education
Lucy's schooling took place at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. Lucy's graduate studies took place at the Royal Northern College of Music (full csholarship), where she gained a BMus (Hons) 2:1 in July 2008. During her studies Lucy spent a year in Germany after being awarded an Erasmus Scholarship to study at the Leipzig Hochschule fur Musik und Theater (2006 - 07).
