Biography
Brian was appointed principal Bassoon of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in 1988. Brian was also Principal Contra Bassoonist with New Arts Philharmonic Orchestra Pretoria, South Africa (1998 - 2000).

Orchestras: Aurelian Ensemble, La Folia, Pro-Arte, RTE Concert Orchestra, Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra, de Havilland Philharmonic.

Brian's orchestral work also includes the Halle Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Opera North, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, Ulster Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, RTE Concert Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, English National Opera, English National Ballet, Northern Ballet, London Concert Orchestra, Dublin Grand Opera, Orchestra of St John Smith Square, Milton Keynes City Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Strauss Orchestra.

Brian has also worked with the European Community Youth Orchestra (Contra, 1985 & 1986).

Education
Brian was born in 1962. Brian's graduate studies took place at Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, Junior Department (1978 - 1980), Royal Northern College of Music (PPRNCM Solo Recital Diploma (Contra) & GRNCM Graduate Diploma (Bassoon)) (1980 - 1985), National Centre for Orchestral Studies, London (NCOS DOS Diploma in Orchestral Studies) (1985 - 1986).

Teachers: Edgar Williams (1978 - 1980), William Waterhouse (1980 - 1985), David Chatwin (1980 - 1985), Edward Warren (1980 - 1985), William Greenlees (Contra, 1980 - 1985), John Orford (1985 - 1986).
