Biography
Rosalind completed her undergraduate studies at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, in 2001 and went on to study 'cello at Post-Graduate level with Naomi Butterworth at Trinity College of Music from 2003-2005. Since then she has been developing her career and now enjoys freelance work in orchestras and chamber music groups around the country.

On the 18th January 2009, Rosalind is soloist in a performance of the Haydn Cello Concerto in C major at the Regal in Oxford.

As a chamber musician Rosalind has given a cello and Piano duo recital at the Holywell Music Room in July (2008); taken part in a performance of the Schubert String Quintet in C at the 2007 St Columb Festival; and she played continuo for Counter-tenor William Purefoy at the St Endellion Summer Festival 2008.

Rosalind is a founding member of the Lumi String Quartet, a young professional ensemble, performing regularly for all kinds of events and functions in the UK.

As a member of the Bella Court Piano Trio 2003 - 2007, Rosalind was awarded the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust's audience prize in 2004. The trio gave performances at The Holywell Music Room, Chipping Campden Music Festival, Fairfield Halls (Croydon), St Mark's Church in Florence as part of the Maggio Musicale Festival and the opening concert of the Peter the Great Festival in Groningen (Holland)

In addition to pursuing a career as an orchestral musician, Rosalind is interested in a wide variety of music and performs regularly with the folk singer Lauren McCormick. In 2004, Rosalind worked with members of the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Klezma Band The Burning Bush on a project which culminated in a performance of Jewish music at the Royal Festival Hall.

Rosalind's orchestral work also includes The Orchestra of Stow Opera, The Arion Orchestra, St Endellion Summer Festival Orchestra, Dartington Festival Orchestra, New Orpheus Ensemble (principle), Camerata Santa Doratea (co-principle), Musica Riva Festival International Orchestra, various Choral Society Orchestras around the country,Trinity College of Music Chamber Orchestra (principle), Trinity College of Music Symphony Orchestra, Cambridge University Music Society's First Orchestra, Oxford University Chamber Orchestra.

Rosalind's Opera work includes performances with

  • The Oxford Opera Company - Solo cello part in Britten's The Turn of the Screw (2008). Conductor - James Ross
  • the St Endellion summer festival - Britten's Peter Grimes with Mark Padmore (2008), Wagner's Tannhauser (2007) and Janacek's Jenufa (2006) Musical Director and conductor - Richard Hickox
  • Dartington Festival Orchestra - the Magic Flute (2006)

Rosalind's Show experience includes The Boyfriend at the Oxford Playhouse 2007

Rosalind has played on sessions for the Tru Thoughts Record Label - including part of a String Octet on Lizzy Parks' new album Raise The Roof (released 2008), and played in a backing String Quartet for album by Riaan Vosloo (Impossible Ark Record Label).
