Biography
Alice is a freelance clarinettist. She regularly double on Eb and Bass Clarinet as well as on all the saxophones. Alice also plays C Clarinet. She is on the Extra Lists for the Orchestra of the English National Opera and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: BBC Concert Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Endymion Ensemble, English National Ballet, Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, New London Chamber Ensemble, Southern Sinfonia, Ulster Orchestra. Shows: Les Miserables, Love Never Dies, National Theatre Orchestra, Oliver, South Pacific, Thursford Christmas Spectacular, War Horse. Sessions: London Metropolitan Orchestras Ltd.

Alice's orchestral work also includes London Symphony Orchestra 'Side-by-Side' scheme, London Oratory Sinfonia, London Amistad Orchestra, European Chamber Opera, Opera UK, Britten International Opera School, Aldeburgh Festival, performing Britten's 'Death in Venice', London Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Academy (2007).

Alice's show work includes South Pacific (Barbican & UK Tour), Porgy and Bess (West End), Regents Park Open Air Theatre, 'Oklahoma!' for the Chichester Festival and 'Secret Garden' for the Birmingham Rep Theatre.

Alice's education work includes the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Alice's session work includes playing solo clarinet on a BBC4 documentary, 'Scouting for Boys', presented by Ian Hislop.

Alice's solo work includes the Finzi Clarinet Concerto with The Beethoven Ensemble, and an upcoming performance of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra.

Education
Alice's schooling took place at Guildhall School of Music and Drama Junior Department (1996-2000) and Wells Cathedral School, Somerset (2000-2002). Alice's graduate studies took place at the Royal College of Music where she gained a First-Class Honours degree and a Postgraduate Diploma (2002-2007).

Prizes and Awards

  • Sir Arthur Bliss Scholar supported by a South Square Trust Award - Royal College Post-graduate Diploma.
  • Full Founder Scholarship - Royal College of Music Undergraduate Degree.
  • Musicians Benevolent Fund - bursary to take part in Chamber Music International Course.
  • EMI Sound Music Foundation Award.
  • Lions Music Competition - first prize-winner in British finals, participant in European finals in Rome.
