Biography
Before moving to London in 2008 Alison played with Scottish Ballet (1998 - 2008). She was also Assistant Concertmaster of Orquestra do Algarve from 2002 - 2003. Alison was offered the post of Concertmaster with Orquestra do Norte in 2004.

Alison specialised in composition at Manchester University, and had her orchestral piece 'Cona Mheall' premiered by the D'Oyly Carte Opera Orchestra in St Giles Cripplegate, Barbican, London in 1996 and her string quartet 'Sorcha' premiered by the Alba Quartet in 1998.

Alison has been the Development Officer for the Mendelssohn on the Mull Festival since 2007. She was also Fundraiser for Camerata Ireland from 2007 - 2009.

Alison's orchestral work also includes BBC SSO, Belmont Ensemble of London, British Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, City of Oxford Orchestra, London Telefilmonic, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Ensemble, Scottish Opera, RSNO and Ulster Orchestra.

She has been offered trials with

Alison's solo experience includes performances of

  • Music Club Recitals with pianists Scott Mitchell and Michael McHale

Chamber Music

  • Leader of the Alba Quartet (1998 - 2008)
  • Alba Piano Trio
  • Barber String Quartet (including recital with Alfie Boe in July 2009)

Alison has toured with Shirley Bassey, Sting, Michael Ball, Andrea Bocelli, Lesley Garrett, War of the Worlds, Cesare Cremonini and JJ Gilmour. She works regularly with the Sid Lawrence Orchestra and the Wally Fields Jazz Orchestra.

Her session bookings include the British Philharmonic Orchestra and London Telefilmonic, and her TV work includes a Marks and Spencer Christmas advert with Shirley Bassey (1996) the Alan Titchmarsh Show (2009) and the Brit Awards with Tinie Tempah (2011).

Training Orchestras include National Youth Orchetsra and the Chamber Orchestra of National Youth Orchestra.

Education
Alison's schooling took place at the Music School of Douglas Academy. Alison's graduate studies took place at the Royal Northern College of Music and Manchester University where she earned a BMus Hons 2:1. She completed her education at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Licenciate Diploma in 1997.
