Claire Kohda Hazelton has a very varied career as a freelance violinist. She performs frequently with classical orchestras (including Chineke! Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of London) and, also, with orchestras that are more experimental and that cross boundaries between classical music, art, film and pop music (such as Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra).

While Claire has a particular interest in contemporary and experimental music, she also is currently studying baroque violin under Ellen O'Dell. She has also collaborated with several contemporary artists in some more experimental settings (locations include the ICA, Chelsea Art School, Turner Contemporary), as both a violinist and a composer. She also enjoys session work and has worked with musicians including Owen Pallet, Aussie Floyd, William Neverest and To Kill a King.

Claire is also a writer, currently writing, amongst other things, on race, class and gender inclusivity in classical music.
