Biography
Thomas regularly performs throughout the UK and Europe with 'period instrument' ensembles, the Academy of Ancient Music, the Gabrieli Consort and Players and the Avison Ensemble. Recent projects include concerts and a recording of Haydn's The Creation with Paul McCreesh and the Gabrielis, which was released last year. He has also made two recordings with the Avison Ensemble, based in Newcastle, with Pavlo Beznosiuk directing. Thomas has also performed with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Oxford Orchestra.

Thomas is currently on trial for no.3 viola with Scottish Ballet.

Thomas's orchestral work also includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, City of Oxford Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort and Players, Avison Ensemble, Purcell Quartet and Ex-Cathedra.

Education
Thomas's graduate studies took place at Trinity College of Music where he gained a BMus degree (2:1) studying violin. He then attended the Royal Northern College of Music where he studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance on the viola where he gained a distinction. Further study took him to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio where he studied with Roger Chase.
