Biography
Katie has been a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra since 2006 and will be performing with them again during 2007 in Switzerland at the Verbier Festival and on tour in the USA and Europe in the winter. She has also performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, St. George's Chamber Orchestra and Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra and is on the extra-work list for the London Mozart Players for basset horn work.
Solo achievements include reaching the woodwind finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, 2000, and performing Adams and Debussy in the RNCM's Concerto Award Finals in 2000 and 2001. In 2007 she won the Making Music Award for Young Concert Artists.
Katie has recorded with the European Union Youth Orchestra for Deutsche Grammophon. Other studio work includes Dallapiccola's Goethe-Lieder for Delphian Records and film scores by Andrew Morgan for Awake Films.

Katie's orchestral work also includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, New Professionals Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia and opera companies Second Movement and Opera East. In 2004 she was solo and bass clarinettist in "Clockwork" by McNeff, an opera collaboration between the Philharmonia and the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, and in autumn 2006 Katie performed clarinet and bass clarinet in McNeff's new opera, "Tarka the Otter" at the Two Moors Festival, conducted by Nicholas Cleobury.
Education Katie's graduate studies took place at the Royal Academy of Music (PG Dip Performance, including Distinction in Final Recital, 2002 - 04) and the Royal Northern College of Music (First class BMus (Hons), 1999 - 2002). Prizes and Awards
