Biography
Antero was appointed Co-Principal Cello of the Southbank Sinfonia in February 2004.

Antero was born in 1978 in Bern, Switzerland and began to play the cello at the age of nine. He graduated from the Hochschule der Kunste Bern in 2002 where he studied with Peter Horr. Antero graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2003 where he studied with Mats Lidstrom.

Antero was a prize winner at the Kiefer Hablitzel-Stiftung competition in 2003 year and he has given in concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Poland and San Francisco. In 1998 he toured Germany as member of the string ensemble 'Petit Symphony'.

Antero performed the Elgar Cello Concerto with Southbank Sinfonia at St John's Smith Square (September 2004). He has also appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at the Young Musicians' Festival Halifax, UK (March 2003); the Hellman Hall, San Francisco Conservatory Of Music (April 2001); and he has given recitals in Switzerland, Germany, and the UK as member of the Chardant Piano Trio and the Roh Piano Trio (1998 - 2003)

Education
Antero's graduate studies took place at Hochschule der Kunste Bern (1997 - 2002, Undergraduate and Teaching Diploma 'with distinction').

Antero's postgraduate studies took place at the Royal Academy of Music (2002 - 2003, Postgraduate Diploma 'with distinction').
