Biography
Brighton born cellist Oliver Mansfield studied with Alison Moncrieff-Kelly at the East Sussex Academy of Music before gaining a full scholarship to study with John Todd and Catherine Ardagh-Walter at Birmingham Conservatoire. During his time at the conservatoire he was principal cello of the sinfonia and symphony orchestra, broadcast live on BBC 4, and was a very active chamber musician and performer of new music.

Upon graduating in July 2009 with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree, Oliver was awarded with the Principal's Prize. Since then he has been studying privately with Sue Lowe, whilst pursuing a freelance career. He is a member of the London based Senar Piano Trio, played for musicals at the Pleasance Theatre and the Menier Chocolate Factory as well as appearing on ITV's Xfactor. Oliver has recently been appointed as one of the Cello tutors for the String Time Programme at Junior Trinity. He has regularly attended the International Cello Gathering Courses and has had masterclasses with Alexander Baillie, Pierre Doumenge, Louise Hopkins, Raphael Wallfisch, the Schubert Ensemble, Carducci, Coull, Dante, Maggini and Sorrel quartets.

Oliver's orchestral work also includes Kantani Ensemble (including principal); Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, New Guide to Opera, world premiere of 'And now, the news' by Michael Wolters (broadcast live in BBC 4); Philharmonia Orchestral Scheme; Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra (princ 2008), Sinfonia Orchestra (princ 2007) and Composers Ensemble.

Oliver's chamber music work includes the Senar Piano Trio, Kantanti Soloists, The Play-House Musick, Brighton String Quartet, Carnaby Trio and Silvaner Quartet.

Education
Oliver's graduate studies took place at Birmingham Conservatoire (2005 - 09, BMus (hons)). Oliver has been studying privately with Sue Lowe since 2009.
