Biography
I started having piano lessons rather early in life - at the age of six, after my mother had spotted me imitating my father conducting his choir and playing the organ at the same time.
Soon after starting on the piano, I had a few lessons on the horn, before the local music service 'suggested' that the trombone might be more suitable. Within a year of starting at secondary school, I had my first organ lesson (my father needed a deputy for a 'work weekend away'), and was hooked for life. These three instruments gave me a great number of opportunities to perform around England and Europe, and, more importantly, skip a rather large number of sports lessons.
Although the organ is my first study, I still managed to continue the trombone through my undergraduate studies at the University of Exeter, becoming heavily involved with the Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band. Unfortunately, when the university management decided to close the department during my second year, I was forced to transfer and complete my studies at Bristol.
Since leaving university, I have been appointed as the Director of Music at St Joseph's Catholic Church, New Malden.
