Solo Violin, Orpheus Papafilippou, Brunelleschi Ensemble Biography Orpheus is a versatile and experienced musician performing as an orchestral, chamber and solo violinist. Orpheus is the leader of the Brunelleschi String Quartet and Ensemble with whom he has performed in the Royal Festival Hall. His solo and chamber performances include St Martin in the Fields, St John's Smith Square and London's South Bank Centre. As a Concerto Soloist he has performed Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bach Double Violin Concerto and the Solo's from Brandenburg Concertos 1, 2, 4 & 5, Mozart Sinfonia Concertante and Violin Concerto No 5 in A Major. He regularly gives solo recitals with pianists including concerts for Music in Hospitals. Orpheus performed as onstage solo tango violinist for the Balletboyz Greatest Hits Queen Elizabeth Hall performances in November 2008. Contemporary work includes recording Ezio Bosso’s Ballet Score as part of Buxus Consort at Abbey Road, the World Premier of Facing the Carnyx by Steven Montague at the National Portrait Gallery and the UK premier of Rawsthorne’s Kubla Khan in the Bridgewater Hall. World Premieres of solo & chamber pieces written for Orpheus and the Brunelleschi String Quartet and Ensemble by Aziza Sadikova, Denise Mangiardi, William Attwood, Theothoros Harithis and Simon Spear. Orchestral Work Orpheus's orchestral work also includes the Amadeus Orchestra (inc leader & principal 2nd), Arion Orchestra (principal 2nd), Camerata of London, Chameleon Arts Orchestra (inc leader & principal 2nd), London Breakbeat Orchesrta, London European Orchestra (leader), London Ripieno Orchestra (leader), London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Stanley Hall Opera. Shows The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Calamity Jane, West Side Story (leader). Training London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Wren Ensemble TCM (leader), Contemporary Music Group TCM (leader), Studio Opera Queensland (leader).
