Biography
Julian is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (2nd trumpet), and has also played with many other orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta, Philharmonia Orchestra, as well as Ensemble Modern.

Julian's interest in contemporary music has led to engagements with the Endymion Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, London Sinfonietta and with Music Projects/London.

Julian trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Rudolf Kempe Scholarship. He teaches at Peter Symonds College in Winchester (Hampshire Specialist Music Course), and at Cricklade College, Andover (Pre-professional Music Course).

Orchestras: Adderbury Ensemble, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Chaconne Brass, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, City of Oxford Orchestra, Gabrieli Consort, New London Sinfonia.

Education
Julian was born in Alton, Hampshire 1959. Julian's schooling took place at Eggar's Grammar School (1970 - 1977). Julian's graduate studies took place at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (GGSM & PGDip in Orchestra Studies 1977 - 1981).

Prizes and Awards
Rudolf Kempe Scholarship (1979).
