Biography
Gillian performs regularly in recital with pianist Mark Tanner. In 2009 she is giving a number of recitals with Mark including Wigmore Hall and the Frome Festival, Somerset. Repertoire includes the complete works of Gaubert and a specialist interest in contemporary British composers.
She has very recently made a recording of the flute works of composer Graham Lynch on the Priory label. The works include a series of Tangos together with other pieces of a more esoteric nature including Moon Cycle, an atmospheric piece for solo flute.
The Scottish composer John McLeod is writing a new piece, Quicksilver, especially for Gillian which will be premiered at the Wigmore Hall in July 2009.
Gillian makes regular appearances on cruise ships around the globe with duo partner Mark Tanner. Together they perform an extensive and eclectic mix of flute and piano repertoire.
Gillian is also an examiner for the IB, Edexel and AQA examination boards.

Gillian's orchestral work also includes Cornish Sinfonia, The Sinfonietta, Chester Philharmonic, Duchy Opera Orchestra, Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and the Cornwall Chamber Orchestra.
Education
Gillian's graduate studies took place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (1979-1983) where she gained a Graduate Diploma and
followed this with post-graduate studies, also at the RWCM&D. Specialising in performance, Gillian was principal Piccolo and principal Flute of the college orchestras. Gillian also gained LTCL (1981) and LRSM (1999) performance diplomas.
Teachers: Clare Southworth, Douglas Townshend, Simon Priestly, Nick Vallis Davies.
Gillian has taken part in recent Masterclasses with Wissam Boustany, Susan Milan, Atarah Ben-Tovim and Daniel Pailthorpe.
