Biography
Kate became a member of the BBC Symphony Orchestra in July 2005.

Kate was principal viola of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Newfoundland Sinfonia (September 2001 - 2004). Kate was a member of the Atlantic String Quartet based in St John's Newfoundland, Canada and she held a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada (Jan 1999 - March 1999, Oct 1999 - March 2000).

Kate's solo and chamber music works includes a recital with Mika Yoshida (percussion) presented by Sound Symposium (Nov 2003); a performance of the Penderecki Concerto, Hindemith's Trauermusik and Bach's 6th Brandenburg Concerto with Newfoundland Sinfonia (March 2003); a recital with Tom Gordon (Piano) at 2002 Sound Symposium, St John's, Newfoundland, which was broadcast nationally in Sept 2002 on CBC's 'Two New Hours' (June 2002); Solo and Chamber Recitals for the Memorial University of Newfoundland's Recital Series (2001 - 2004); solo broadcasts on CBC's 'Musicraft', with a demo cd recorded with Kristina Szutor (Jan 2002 and Sept 2003); the ASQ recital series series; regular broadcasts on CBC's 'Musicraft'; a tour to Ottawa and Kingston (April 2003); recitals with the Killian String Quartet, London, most recent performance in July 2003 (2000 - present); solo and chamber recitals at the Banff Centre for the Arts.

Kate's orchestral work also includes the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia (principal viola, 2001 - 2004), Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Britten-Pears Orchestra, St Endellion Festival (principal viola), International Symphony Orchestra (1995 - 1998), and the Royal College of Music Orchestras (principal viola).

Education
Kate was born in 1974. Kate's graduate studies took place at the Royal College of Music, attaining a Bachelor of Music with Honours, 2:1 (1993 - 1997) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Solo and Ensemble Performance (1997 - 1998).
