Biography
Isobel studied violin with Clairence Myerscough of the Royal Academy of Music as part of a music bursary scheme at the University of Kent, where she read Modern Languages from 1987 - 1991. Later she pursued post-graduate studies with John Crawford at Trinity College of Music, 1996 - 1998. After this Isobel continued violin studies with Howard Davis.

Isobel has worked extensively as an orchestral violinist and plays with a very successful professional quartet, the Sole Bay Strings. Isobel has also performed regularly as a soloist.

Orchestral Work

Isobel's orchestral work includes Leader - Britten Pears Orchestra (1998 - 2001), including concerts with Oliver Knussen, Kent Nagano, and Michael Thomas (Brodsky Quartet); National Symphony Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, London Gala Orchestra, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra and various other freelance engagements with orchestras in London and East Anglia.

In addition Isobel worked for the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra in 2000. She has been invited to guest lead a number of orchestras in Kent and in her home county of Suffolk. More recently chamber music has been high on the agenda as a result of joining the Sole Bay Strings as their first violinist.

Isobel's solo work includes the Bruch Violin Concerto with Monchengladbach Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the University of Kent Symphony Orchestra and Trianon Music Group, Ipswich; Beethoven Violin Concerto with Ipswich Orchestral Society; Mozart Violin Concertos Nos 3 and 4 with Suffolk Symphony Orchestra; and The Lark Ascending with the University of Kent Symphony Orchestra and Ipswich Orchestral Society.

Education
Isobel was born in 1968. Isobel's graduate studies took place at The University of Kent: BA (Hons) in Modern Languages and European Studies (1987 - 1991), and Trinity College of Music: Post-graduate certificate of Performance (1996 - 1998).

Teachers: Clarence Myerscough, John Crawford and Howard Davis.
