Biography
Simon's solo performances include recitals at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh; the Bachzaal, Amsterdam; Merchant House, Glasgow; St Andrew's and St George's, during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; and in Whithorn, Dumfries and Galloway.

Simon has performed the Weber Bassoon Concerto with Edinburgh University Chamber Orchestra.

Simon has taught for the South Lanarkshire and East Dumbartonshire councils.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, British Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Concert Orchestra.

Simon's orchestral work also includes Manchester Camerata, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Tibor Varga Festival Orchestra (the orchestra of the European Opera Centre), Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Britten Pears Orchestra (princ, 1997 - 1999), British Youth Opera (princ, 1996 - 2000) and Edinburgh Grand Opera (principal, 1995 - 1999).

Simon is currently on trial with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra on Contrabassoon.

Education
Simon's schooling took place at Mark Hall Comprehensive School, Harlow (1979 - 1984), Colchester Institute, School of Music (1984 - 1986) Simon's graduate studies took place at Edinburgh University (1987 - 1991 & 1994 - 1995), Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (1995 - 1997) and Conservatorium van Amsterdam (1997 - 1999).

Teachers: Jos de Lange, Guus Draal (contra), Julie Price, Alison Green, Christopher Robson and Ursula Leveaux.

Masterclasses and workshops with Kim Walker, Brian Pollard, Donna Agrell, Nicholas Daniel, Joy Farrell, Melinda Maxwell and Oliver Knussen.
