Biography
Nicola's concerto performances include
- Bach Brandenburg Concerto No.4
- Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto in London and Geneva
- Dai Fujikura Alto Flute Concerto (written specifically for Nicola)
- Ibert Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in Hong Kong
Nicola has given recitals throughout the UK including performances at St David's Hall and the Addleshaw Booth Opera Theatre during 'Schubert Fest' at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Orchestral Work
Orchestras: BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Britten Sinfonia, English National Opera Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Education Work: English National Opera Education / Baylis.
Nicola's orchestral work also includes English National Opera (sub-principal Flute trial), BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a student Nicola worked with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales (principal Flute, 1995 - 98), Britten-Pears Orchestra (principal, 2nd and Piccolo, 1998 - 2000), Trinity College of Music Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern College of Music Chamber, Symphony and Opera Orchestra's, Cantiere di Montipulciano (principal) in Brahms 4th Symphony in 2002, and the Hong Kong Medical Orchestra.
Education
Nicola's schooling took place at Chetham's School of Music and the Maelor School, Penley. Nicola's graduate studies took place at Trinity College of Music where she gained a BMus with 1st Class Hons (1996 - 2000). She also achieved an MMus, with distinction, in Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music (2000 - 02). Nicola attended the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts for Orchestral training in 2002 - 03.
