Aron Rozsa (Piano) Profile

Hungarian-born Aron Rozsa began his musical education in Hungary when he was five, and started learning the piano at 7 when he moved to the UK. Aron graduated in 2005 from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, gaining a BMus (Hons) with 2:1/Distinction before continuing his studies at London's Royal College of Music, gaining a Master's degree in advanced piano performance in 2007. He has won many competitions and awards, including winning a prize in the 15th Vienna International Music Competition, Austria, and performing at the Bosendorfer Hall in Vienna.

Aron Rozsa (Piano) Profile

Aron Rozsa was born in 1983 in Hungary and moved to Great Britain at the age of six. Shortly after this he commenced his musical education. In 2001 Aron commenced his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied with Mark Ray and also worked regularly with Alexander Melnikov. He completed his Bachelors degree in 2005.

Aron then went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he completed his Masters Degree in advanced performance in 2007, studying with John Byrne. Aron has participated in masterclasses with such artists as Anne Queffelec, Imre Rohmann, Barry Snyder, Daniel Hoexter, Tamas Vesmas, Stephen Savage and Balazs Szokolay. Aron has also been fortunate to receive the guidance of Madame Seidlhofer in Vienna and Noretta Conci in London.

In 2002 Aron won second prize in the Leo Weiner and the performance of Contemporary Hungarian Music competition held as part of the Balassagyarmat International music festival and year after was invited to perform in the closing concert of the Pro Musica international festival.

In the same year he was a laureate of the 1ST Bela Bartok International Piano Competition in Szeged, Hungary and in June of 2006 was a semi-finalist in the 5th Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition in Gaillard, France, where he was one of the seven competitors who gave the premier of a new work -'A la pizzicato' by Rodion Shchedrin. In 2007 December Aron was one of the three Prize Winners of the 15th Vienna International Music Competition, which was held at the Bosendorfer Hall in Vienna. As a result of this, Aron recorded a CD and DVD at the Bosendorfer Hall on the Swiss based IPA label - released in 2009 - as well as international concert engagements. Aron was a national finalist of the BBC Fame Academy Bursary Awards 2007.

Aron has performed throughout Great Britain and Hungary and in 2005 performed in the Sculptors in sound - piano music of Beethoven and Tippett festival in Manchester. In the same year, he appeared alongside the pianist Andrew Wilde, in a joint recital for Music at Sine Nomine. Other engagements include recitals at the Wells Cathedral School in Somerset, the Warehouse in London - for the Park Lane Group Composer's Symposium, Ealing Chopin Festival, a recital for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians and a performance with the Blackfriars Sinfonia.

Aron is the recipient of the Gwendolyn Reiche Memorial Scholarship 2005 and one of the prestigious 2009 awards from the Sir George Solti Foundation.

Teaching experience

Aron is an experienced piano teacher who has taught all levels and ages in state and independent schools, and as a private tutor, most recently specialising in children aged 5 -16. Growing up in both Hungary and the UK has given Aron a unique understanding of different approaches to piano tuition, enabling him to draw on the teaching style and method best suited to each individual student.
