Stuart's orchestral work also includes

principal bassoon with the London Concert Orchestra, Johann Strauss Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi, London Pops Orchestra and the St Endellion Summer Festival Orchestra.

Stuart has also worked on bassoon and contra with Welsh National Opera, City of London Sinfonia including Opera Holland Park, Orchestra of St John's, English National Ballet, City Chamber Orchestra and Southern Pro Arte.

Stuart has had a trial for principal bassoon with the Northern Ballet Theatre (2004/05). He is also on the extra list for bassoon and contra with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

He was a member of the Southbank Sinfonia in 2005, including performing under John Williams.

Stuart's training orchestra experience includes the RAM & GSMD Orchestras including Philharmonia and LSO sit-ins (principal, 2nd & contra); the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, London Phiharmonic Youth Orchestra and Britten Pears Symphony Orchestra (principal, 2nd, 3rd & contra); and as principal with Kent County Youth Orchestra.

As a solo and chamber musician Stuart has performed the bassoon concerto The Five Sacred Trees on both co-principal bassoon and contra. He performs with the Harwood Wind Trio in the Live Music Now! Recital Scheme, and also with Sounds Underground / Kreisler Ensemble.

Stuart is also a reed making teacher at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

EDUCATION

Graduate studies

the Royal Academy of Music (BMus (London) & LRAM, 1999 - 2003) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (PGDip in Orchestral Training, 2003 - 04). Stuart also studied at the Kent Centre for Young Instrumentalists (1995 - 99).
