Biography
Daniel attended Wells Cathedral School and took up a place at the Royal Academy of Music in 2001 to study with Angela Malsbury and Nicholas Rodwell. Following graduation, he moved to Birmingham Conservatoire to study for the Advanced Postgarduate Diploma in Professional Performance, learning with Timothy Lines and Michael Harris, which he completed with a commendation. He then continued his studies at Birmingham Conservatoire with a Masters degree specialising in bass clarinet with Paolo De Gaspari.

Daniel has taken part in masterclasses with many artists, amongst whom are Michael Collins, Andrew Marriner and Sabine Meyer, and he has worked with conductors including Sir Colin Davis, Sir Charles Mackerras and Oliver Knussen.

As a chamber musician he has won the John Ireland Prize, the Sylvia Cleaver Prize and the Derek Young Memorial Award.

Daniel's orchestral training includes the Britten-Pears Orchestra, the Cheltenham Festival Academy Players and the professional traning schemes of the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, with which he has also performed professionally. He has performed concertos by Finzi, Nielsen, Weber and Mozart.

Daniel's orchestral work includes City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (2008), Cheltenham Festival Academy Players (2007), Britten-Pears Orchestra (2006).

Professional Training Schemes: Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Education
Daniel's schooling took place at Royal Academy of Music, BMus (hons) 2:i. (September 2001 - June 2005).

Daniel was elected as a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in June 2004.

Daniel's graduate studies took place at Birmingham Conservatoire (Advanced Postgraduate Diploma with Commendation, September 2005 - June 2007). Daniel is currently studying for an MMus in Bass Clarinet & Basset Horn, to be completed September 2008.
