Biography
Oliver enjoys a busy and varied career as a freelance musician, playing with various orchestras and chamber ensembles all over the UK and Europe, and was recently appointed as the principal second violin of West Sussex Opera. Aside from this, Oliver enjoys a growing private teaching schedule within a specialist music department at a thriving secondary school in Surrey.
As a chamber musician, Oliver works extensively as the second violinist of an upcoming London based string quartet and is also the principal violinist of the Waldgrave ensemble.
As a soloist, Oliver has performed Vivaldi's Four Seasons (directed from the violin), The Lark Ascending by Vaughn Williams and Bach's A minor violin concerto.
Other work includes theatre productions of Carousel, Sweeney Todd, West side story, Titanic and Blood Brothers. Oliver has also appeared on stage with the Rambert Dance Company and as principal first violin of Savoy Opera.
Further studies and masterclasses include: Prof. Bela Katona, Cynthia Flemming, Miranda Playfair, Viktoria Mullovah, Maureen Smith, Levon Parikian and Gordon Back. Oliver has also been involved with training ensembles such as the National Youth Chamber Ensemble, the Rehearsal Orchestra and a series of 'side by side' events with the Britten Sinfonia.

Oliver's orchestral work also includes Chamber Orchestra Anglia, St Pauls Sinfonia, the orchestra of Opera d'Bauge in France, West Sussex Opera, De Havilland Philharmonic, Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Norwich Pops Orchestra, Situation Opera, Clic Sergant Symphony Orchestra, Regency Sinfonia, and various dates with un-named ad hoc ensembles
Education
Oliver's graduate studies took place at Royal Holloway, University of London where he read Music (BMus Hons 2:1).
Teachers: Paul Clarke and Prof. Dona Lee Croft (RCM).
