Biography
Julian is an accomplished orchestral player and was a member of the Ulster Orchestra and then later the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He has worked as a freelance violinist with many orchestras including Brandenburg Sinfonia, London Concert Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia, London Pops Orchestra, Guildford Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, New London Orchestra and Opera Project.

He has taught violin at Marlborough College and currently teaches at Trevor Roberts School in Swiss Cottage. He has an interest in playing different musical styles including Irish folk, bluegrass, jazz, rock and pop. He writes his own arrangements in various styles for the Amber Players.

Julian works for the record producer Ron Tomlinson and he is featured on Sinead O'Connor's album Theology. He formed his own folk-rock band in Bournemouth, which had a residency in Durleston Castle, Swanage.

Julian's orchestral work also includes the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (2nd violin tutti, 1990 - 1995), the Ulster Orchestra (2nd violin tutti, sitting No.3, 1985 - 1988) and the PM Ensemble.

Julian has worked as a freeelance violinist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Sinfonietta, New London Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Guildford Philharmonic, Millenium Sinfonia, London Pops Orchestra, East of England Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia.

Education
Julian's graduate studies took place at the Royal Northern College of Music (1980 - 1984).
