Orchestral Work
Orchestras: Marianne Olyver & Her Orchestra.
Robert's orchestral work also includes Divertimenti Chamber Orchestra (Princ), Music Projects London, Rambert Dance Company, the BBC Concert Band and Philharmonia Britanica (Princ and Bass Cl).
Robert's chamber work includes Regular Music Ensemble, Brahms Clarinet Quintet, the Phoenix Players Ensemble, Eklisia Gumuslik Summer Arts Festival (Turkey), recitals with Michael Finnissy and Isaac Barry, and period instrument recitals with Ruchard Burnett.
Robert's show work includes Guys and Dolls, Threepenny Opera, Happy End, Putting it Together, Company, Nine - The Musical and Sweeney Todd.
Robert has performed first performances of works by composers such as Chris Dench, Michael Finnissy, Erika Fox, David Graham Ellis (including solo broadcast on BBC R3 Young Composers Forum), and he has recorded a CD, The Enchanted Garden with Gaynor Perry.
As a pianist, Robert has worked with many instrumentalists and singers, and has also worked as a dance pianist. As well as being a staff accompanist at Dartington International Summer School, he was also invited by Sir Charles Mackerras to be his assistant and repetiteur for Don Giovanni for the reopening of the Estates Theatre in Prague.
He is current pianist with the Marianne Olyver Orchestra, and regularly plays in duo recitals with Marianne.
Education
Robert's graduate studies took place at the Royal Academy of Music and King's College, London (BMus, Hons). Robert was also awarded an Italian Government Scholarship to Accademia Musicale Chigianna, Siena, Italy.
Teachers: Alan Hacker, Tony Pay, Thea King and Giuseppe Garbarino (all clarinet), Peter Gellhorn (piano).
