Biography
In 2001, Ian was appointed Principal Clarinet of The Royal Ballet Sinfonia based in London. He was Principal Clarinet of the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Lisbon from 1980-1986.
Ian's solo experience included performances of Mozart Sinfonia Concertante, Debussy Rhapsodie, Weber Concertino and Concerto No 1 & 2, Mozart Concerto and Rossini Introduction, Theme and Variations.
Ian's group Blue Amadeus is a clarinet and string ensemble with a repertoire that ranges from Mozart to Swing!

Education
Ian was born in Perth, Scotland. 1958. Ian's schooling took place at the Perth Academy. Ian's graduate studies took place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (1975 - 1979) and University of Arizona (1979 - 1980).
