Biography
As the daughter of a composer and a harmonica player and the granddaughter of a jazz pianist, I grew up surrounded by an eclectic mix of music making. As a child I took part in local music making at the Milton Keynes Music Service and as a student at the National Youth Music Camps and was always willing to join in with any type of singing/dancing and enthusiastic recorder playing that I could.

At the age of 12 I started playing the bassoon and found my musical direction, becoming part of orchestras and chamber ensembles at the Royal Latin School, Buckingham and at MKMS. I went on to study Music at the University of Surrey, becoming an active member of the Symphony Orchestra and many other ensembles. As part of my degree I spent a year working in the education department of the London Symphony Orchestra, LSO Discovery, where I got to work alongside some wonderful musicians and some equally wonderful children and adults with learning disabilities. I am passionate about music education and believe that high quality music making should be accessible to all. This has driven me to become a woodwind tutor at the National Youth Music Camps where I was once a pupil. I have also worked with Music for Youth at the Schools Proms and also at their annual National Festival of Music for Youth.
