Biography
Julia studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Malcolm Layfield. She freelanced in Manchester and then in London where she worked with orchestras including the London Sinfonietta Opera Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and Premiere Ensemble.

Her interest in variety and her eclectic taste in music led her away from orchestral playing and into the West End and the National Theatre playing in Miss Saigon, Battle Royal, Witches of Eastwick, Kiss Me Kate, Therese Raquin and more recently, The Producers.

She has also worked extensively in the recording industry in rock and pop and film music as an arranger and a player. Her more recent work includes Duffy, The Magic Numbers, Jools Holland, Sophie Delila and Teddy Thompson.

As well as playing, Julia tutors the Haringey Young Musicians' Symphony Orchestra and the Haringey String Orchestra.

She also plays viola and mandolin.

Orchestras: Chameleon Arts Orchestra, London Orchestra da Camera, Urban Soul Orchestra. Shows: Lion King, Shrek. Sessions: Isobel Griffiths, Sally Herbert.

Julia's orchestral work also includes the Manchester Camerata, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Northern Ballet.
