Outreach experienceMatthew has presented education projects for Live Music Now, with both the Arcadia Bassoon Quartet and with a Wind Quintet. As a member of the Arcadia Bassoon Quartet he has also worked extensively for the Philharmonia orchestra's education department.

Biography
Matthew Taylor studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (1995 - 2000) and at the Hochschule Für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin (2003 - 2005).
Matthew was Co - Principal Bassoon of the newly created Hyogo Performing Arts Center Symphony in Japan (2005 - 2008). During his time in Japan he worked with artists such as Ton Koopman, Gianedra Noseda, Toru Yasunaga, Milan Turkovic and the Ensemble Wien - Berlin.
He performed regularly on Japanese radio and televison and also appeared as soloist with the Hyogo orchestra in the Francaix Concerto.
Matthew has worked with many orchestras in the UK and abroad, recently appearing as guest Principal with the Malaysian Philharmonic, Macao Orchestra, Opera North and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Since returning to England he has been on trial for the position for Principal Bassoon with the English National Opera.

Matthew's orchestral work also includes Malaysian Philharmonic (2007 trial for Principal), Hyogo Symphony Orchestra, Japan (Co - Principal 2005 - 2008), Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (guest Principal), Macau Chamber Orchestra (guest Principal), Neubrandenburger Philharmonie (guest Principal), Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, Welsh National Opera Orchestra, City of Birmingham Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, English Touring Opera and English Symphony Orchestra.
Matthew's solo experience includes:

Education
Matthew's schooling took place at Chethams School of Music and Drama, Manchester (1989 - 1995). Matthew's graduate studies took place at Hochschule Für Musik "Hans Eisler", Berlin (2003 - 2005), Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (1995 - 2000) (PGDip in Orchestral Training & BMus 2:1 (Hons)).
