Biography
Joanna gave her South Bank debut with pianist Maria Krivenski at the Purcell Room on 12th May 2003.

Joanna is an experienced chamber musician and is a member of Abacus (finalists in the 1991 Bela Bartok International Chamber Music Competition), Chroma and the West Piano Trio, all of whom have had a special interest in contemporary music. She has also played with the Glentworth Ensemble and Helios (violin and piano Duo) and Harmoniemusik of which she is leader.

As a recital and chamber musician she has appeared in the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, Dartington International Summer School, the International Centre for Russian Music, the St Endellion Festival, the St Columb Festival, the Highbury Festival and for several music clubs around Britain.

Joanna, with pianist Maria Krivenski, has recently promoted a series of recitals at Burgh House, Hampstead exploring the social and political relationship between French and Russian music, and she recently gave a world premiere of a work commissioned for this series by Stephen McNeff.

As a concerto soloist she has performed the Mendelssohn (Rehearsal Orchestra), Mozart D major (Isis Chamber Orchestra, 1998), Beethoven (Isis and Oxford Sinfonia, 1999), Glasunov (Clare College Orchestra), Berg (Clare College) and Prokoviev No 2 (Norfolk Symphony and Norfolk Youth Orchestra).

Orchestras: Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Anglia, City of London Sinfonia, Grange Park Opera, Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Pro-Arte, Ulster Orchestra. Sessions: Face Music.

Joanna's orchestral work also includes Carl Rosa Opera (leader), Pimlico Opera Orchestras (leader).

Joanna was a member of English National Opera Orchestra (1st violins, 1992 - 1994); sub-principal 1st Violin with European Union Opera and Grange Park Opera; principal 2nd Violin with the King's Chamber Orchestra and has been guest leader of Opus 20 and co-leader and principal 2nd of the London Concert Orchestra. Joanna has also worked as leader with the London Children's Ballet and Nevill Holt Opera. She has also had trials with BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Northern Sinfonia. Her West End work includes Phantom of the Opera and the Lion King.

Joanna works regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Britten Sinfonia

Education
Joanna was born in 1968. Joanna's schooling took place at Thorpe St Andrew Comp, Norwich. Joanna's graduate studies took place at Clare College, Cambridge (BA Hons 1987 - 1990, MA Hons 1994 ). Joanna's postgraduate studies took place at the Royal Academy of Music (Music Dip of Advanced Studies 1990 - 1992), and at the Indiana University School of Music (1994 - 1995).
