Biography
Brian is an experienced teacher and has held a number of senior posts in music education including Head of Junior Department at Trinity College of Music. He is also a course mentor for the Associated Board CT ABRSM course.

Brian's compositions have been played on National Radio and throughout Europe on TV. He has received commissions from a number of leading ensembles, including the London Mozart Players, Bath Camerata, Surrey Sinfonietta and Fine Arts Sinfonia.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: Croydon Orchestral Ensemble.

Brian's orchestral work also includes The Concert Orchestra of Europe, City of London Sinfonia, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra, Rambert Dance Company, Collegium Musicum of London, Fine Arts Sinfonia, The Fairer Sax, Maidstone Symphony Orchestra, London Piano and Percussion Quartet, Brakedrum Assembly.

Education
Brian's schooling took place at John Port School, Etwall, Derbyshire. Brian's graduate studies took place at the University of Surrey and at Bath Spa University College (PGCE). His postgraduate studies took place at Goldsmiths College.

  • Surrey Sinfonietta Composers Competition (winner, 1998)
  • Tokyo Chamber Music Competition (finalist)
  • Vienna International Composition Priz (finalist, 1995 & 1996)
  • Classic FM Composition Prize for Orchestra (2nd prize, 1994)

Teachers: James Blades, Michael Skinner (Percussion), Bill Bruford, Trevor Tomkins (Kit Drums). Brian also studied Composition with Reginald Smith-Brindle and David Bedford.
