Biography
Cressida enjoys a busy and varied career as a chamber and orchestral musician as well as giving solo recitals. After her undergraduate degree she lived in Helsinki for two years playing with The Helsinki String Orchestra and touring with them to Italy, Germany and Austria. During this time she also observed teachers of the Colourstrings method at the East Helsinki Music Institute. Since then she has been trialling and working with many of the major British orchestras and building a career as a chamber musician. She has just returned from the Cartagena International Music Festival where she was touring with the City of London Sinfonia. She is a member of the Auralio String Quartet and the Arclara String Trio.

Cressida recently performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury with the Lightning Seeds.

Orchestral Work
Orchestras: BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Cavendish Ensemble, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, English National Ballet, London Musical Arts Orchestra (LMA Orchestra), Orchestra Nova, Thames Chamber Orchestra, Urban Soul Orchestra. Education Work: City of London Sinfonia Education.

Cressida's orchestral work also includes trials with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, (tutti viola, 2005) and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Cressida has also worked with the Helsinki String Orchestra, touring Italy, Germany and Austria; Royal Northern College of Music Chamber Orchestra, Kingston Sinfonia Orchestra (Leader). Recent session work includes work for Boosey & Hawkes, as well as TV work for ITV's From Popstar to Operastar.

As a chamber musician, Cressida has been a member of the Lale Quartet, Sahara and recently collaborated with The Nephele Ensemble.

Cressida's solo performance include recitals at Lee Memorial Hall (2009), Javeriana University, Colombia (2007) and Prussia Cove (2005) and masterclasses with Reka Szilvay, Leyland Chen and Yuri Gandelsman at the 'Masters de Pontlevoy' Russian summer school in 2002 and 2003.

Besides her classical career, Cressida is part or the string quartet for the band Keane and played for Nithin Sawhney's Electric Prom (2008). She recently collaborated with Colony Productions co-producing two tracks on an album released in Germany and the UK. She plays on the album The Street Above the Underground by Jazz musician Jean Toussaint. She has also recorded for Antoine Fafard (2004) and Tony Remy (2000) and appeared in the music video Tal Zamaan for Transglobal Underground.

Education
Cressida's schooling took place at Putney High School for Girls (1986 - 1996). Cressida's graduate studies took place at the Royal Northern College of Music (BMus Hons 2:2, 1997 - 2001) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Advanced Orchestral Training (MMus, 2003 - 04).

Teachers: Timothy Boulton, Pirkko Simojoki, Maciej Rakowski, Dona Lee Croft. Masterclasses with Reka Szilvay, Leyland Chen, Yuri Gandelsman.
