  TIM WOODALL  (Viola)»

Biography
I graduated last summer from the University of Southampton with a BA in Music. During my time at university I was heavily involved in running university groups including the Southampton University Sinfonietta of which I was on the committee for three years, including one year as president. I was also a member of the Southampton University Symphony Orchestra, Southampton University Concerto Ensemble, and co-founder of the Stellar String Quartet with whom I performed regularly both in the concert hall and as a function group. I also wrote reviews for the student paper, the Wessex Scene for a whole range of genres.

Pre University, I began my musical life learning the violin at the tender age of five. I took up the viola when I was twelve and played both instruments extensively as part of my commitment to Bromley Youth Music Trust where I developed my love for music. I was a member of the Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra for six years during which time I lead the viola section, performed at many top venues, performed the Telemann viola concerto and went on six tours. I also played in the Bromley Youth Symphony Orchestra (including leading the orchestra in a performance of Brahms' Requiem) and various chamber groups. Since leaving Bromley I have been an active member of Ex-Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra continuing to perform concerts and tour European destinations.

Since leaving university I have continued to perform as much as poossible, especially playing chamber music. I hope to continue playing to a high level, and pursue a varied career in music, whether in administration, performance, education or the media. Who knows!
