During the last four years the Alexandra String Quartet has performed regularly at the Victoria and Albert Museum and its members have also toured extensively throughout Europe, North America and Asia. They have worked with many eminent musicians such as Nigel Kennedy, Julian Lloyd Webber, Placido Domingo and the late Yehudi Menuhin.

The members of the Alexandra String Quartet have been working professionally for over ten years as soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians. Collectively they have studied at the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity College of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest.

The quartet has an extensive repertoire, ranging from classics such as Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, to the Romantic music of Elgar and from the rags of Scott Joplin to the jazz standards of Porter and Gershwin etc. They also have an ever-growing collection of pop arrangements from the '60s onwards including the Beatles, Elton John and Paul Simon. (Please see our repertoire page for a comprehensive list.)

In addition to recitals and functions the quartet is always keen to develop its education and community work. They regularly give recitals for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Arts and offer programmes for primary schools, to compliment the National Curriculum.
