Outreach Each member of the Amber Players is also a successful teacher with extensive experience of individual and group teaching as well as coaching orchestras and giving master classes in performance & chamber music. The Amber Players are available to work with your school, orchestra (children or adults) or musical society/group. If you have a string quartet that could benefit from professional coaching, GCSE or A level classes who would enjoy a workshop on writing for or playing in a string quartet then contact us to discuss a package to suit your needs. A concert and workshop can be arranged to encourage your students to take up an instrument or to improve their understanding and enjoyment of music making. Also we can arrange a lecture recital breaking down and examining your music society's current programme of listening culminating in a performance of the work by the Amber Players. The Amber Players is an experienced London-based professional String Quartet with an unusually diverse repertoire.
The quartet play standard music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras.
What sets them apart is that they also play jazz standards, rock, pop, film, and folk music. Much of this music is arranged specially for The Amber Players by their lead violinist, Julian Saxl.
The Amber Players can be booked for concerts, weddings, civil ceremonies, corporate events, functions and parties etc. The Quartet is experienced in helping you select appropriate music for your event; you can either choose music from its extensive repertoire list, or commission an arrangement of music that will make your event personal and memorable for you.

During our years spent playing together, the group has given many performances including those at Lauderdale House, All Saints Blackheath, St John's Hyde Park, The Lansdowne Club Mayfair, The Wallace Collection London and Corpus Christi College Cambridge.
The members of the quartet have played independently of one another in recitals throughout the U.K & Europe including France, Hungary, Poland, Germany & the Czech Republic before bringing their variety of experience together in this latest project.
As well as the standard Classical repertoire, the group has an active interest in Jazz, Klezmer, Irish, Bluegrass & Contemporary music.
Weddings and Functions
Many of our clients have commented on how much the presence of live, well played, well chosen music can enhance an occasion. This is particularly true of your special day which you will want to always remember fondly in every detail. Along with the perfect venue, dress, floral arrangements and catering also comes music that will compliment your plans.
Whether simple and understated or grand and lavish, the Amber Players can be relied upon to provide the ideal musical atmosphere for your celebrations. We have many years of experience in planning a personal music programme to perfectly compliment your special event. A vast range of music is available (see repertoire lists ) encompassing a variety of musical styles.
Also we offer a personal music arranging service* from our experienced arranger if you cannot see your favourite piece of music on our website. The Amber Players can play to welcome your guests to your event, at your wedding, civil partnership ceremony or blessing, and also at your reception, dinner or party.
* This service incurs an additional charge.
Concert performances
The Amber Players are available to give professional public/private concerts of the highest quality. All the quartet members are experienced performers who rehearse regularly together. A list of our current repertoire is available on request, otherwise concert programmes can be arranged to suit your concert series theme or personal requirements.
