As a soloist Sarah has performed the Hindemith Sinfonia Concertante with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Weber's Bassoon Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra (Shell/LSO competition), and has given recitals at the Fairfield Halls and the Wigmore Hall.

Sarah is principal bassoon of the Glyndebourne Touring Opera, and in 2002 was appointed principal of the Britten Sinfonia.

Sarah is a member of the Marais Ensemble and the Haffner Wind Ensemble.

Sarah's orchestral work also includes the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, English Chamber Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra (Ireland) and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She has also played with the National Youth Orchestra (principal, 1982 - 1989), National Youth Chamber Orchestra and the European Community Youth Orchestra.

Education
Sarah was born in 1971. Sarah's schooling took place at Chetham's School of Music (1983 - 1989). Sarah's graduate studies took place at St Catharine's College, Cambridge (Instrumental Award, 1989 - 1992), Royal Academy of Music (1992 - 1993) and Hochschule fur Musik und Theater, Hannover (1993 - 1995).
